Calcite dolomite limestone and marble are part of the carbonate group which is based on calcium and oxygen.

Granite is an intrusive igneous rock. It is composed primarily of the mineral calcite caco 3 and usually contains other minerals such as clay minerals micas quartz pyrite iron oxides and graphite. Marble is essentially a granular metamorphic rock composed chiefly of recrystallised limestone chief mineral as calcite. Marble forms under such conditions because the calcite forming the limestone recrystallises forming a denser rock consisting of roughly equigranular calcite crystals.

Marble is not an igneous rock. While marble is a non folliated metamorphic rock. Marble is a metamorphic rock that forms when limestone is subjected to the heat and pressure of metamorphism. Igneous rocks cool from molten magma and form the majority of the crust.
